Alice was born in Brookhaven, MS on June 12, 1947. She attended B.C Rain High School in Mobile, Alabama. After high school, she met the love of her life, Bobby, while attending college where she was on the dance team and he was a football player. In 1966 they were married and were inseparable for over 57 years. In 1971, they moved to Bossier City where Bobby took a job coaching at Parkway High School and she worked as the student office secretary. They worked together for ten years at the high school. She spent many Friday nights cheering on Bobby from the stands while he was coaching on the sidelines. Later, she took the job of office manager for Dr. John Richie where she worked for 25 years until she retired.
Once she had grandchildren, Mimi, spent all of her time spoiling them. She and Pepaw never missed a game, recital or school event. She was devoted to them in every way possible until March when her great-granddaughter and namesake, Adeline Ruth, was born and stole the show. “Ruthie” was the light of her life and she spent as much time as she could with her.
Alice was a world famous teacake baker and enjoyed playing Bunco with her bunco group and lunching with her Lunch Bunch ladies. She loved her church, Bellaire Baptist where she served for over 50 years including serving beside Bobby teaching a Sunday School class that she loved beyond measure. She loved her Prayer Warrior friends and never failed to cover them in prayer and they prayed for her fervently. In high school, she met a group of friends who stayed together over the years. She adored The Mobile Magnolias and she loved going to the beach and spending time with them every year. She lived life to the fullest and was full of joy.
Most importantly, Alice had a heart full of Jesus. Up until the moment she left her earthly body you could see Jesus in her. Her legacy is her love of Christ and how she showed Him everyday of her life.
