SHREVEPORT, LA - A graveside service for Angela M. Smith, 96, will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Park with Fr. James Flowers officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 until service time at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Angela passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at age 96 at her residence. She was born on March 3, 1918 to Joseph and Florence Macaluso in Bossier City, LA.

She retired from the LA. Highway Department after almost thirty years of service; and she was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Bossier City.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 ½ years Robert H. “Bobbie” Smith Sr.; her grandson, Douglas Becken; her son-in-law, Eddie Becken; sisters, Florence and Josephine Macaluso, Mary Maggio, and Genevieve Dino; her brothers, Nace, Roy and Charles Macaluso.

Angela is survived by her daughter, Margie Becken; son, Robert H. “Skip” Smith Jr.; her grandson, David Becken of Manitou Springs, CO; granddaughter, Michaelle Connelly and husband Doug of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Cindy Washington of Shreveport, LA; great-granddaughters, Payton Connelly and Elizabeth Grisham; great-grandsons, Grayson Connelly and Josh and Skyler Becken; great-great-granddaughters Isabella and Savannah Becken and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Glenn Retirement System, especially the ladies in Household A.
