She was born Bettie Ann Tucker on October 19, 1933 to her parents Edward and Geneva Tucker in Baxter, AR. The family migrated to Little Rock where Bettie graduated from Little Rock Central High School. While no record has been found, surely her unreal penmanship skills qualified her among a rare group of individuals on this planet. Bettie was working at a Little Rock law firm when she met the love of her life Billy James King. The two were married in Little Rock on June 30, 1954. While moving around the country on a regular basis, Bettie perfected the art of disassembling and reassembling a home and creating a new set of friends at each and every stop. She also perfected her bridge skills along the way, attaining the rank of LifeMaster and enjoying the comradery of friends, particularly at the Bridge House in Shreveport, La.
Bettie was predeceased by her husband Billy, parents Edward and Geneva and brother Johnnie Gene “Bud” Tucker. She is survived by her son James Michael King, his wife Ann, and their children Joshua and Samantha, her son David Edward King, his wife Phoebe Ann Weseley, and their children Carson Joanna King and Holden Alexander King, and her brother William Tucker
