

He was born on January 19, 1952 in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. Having been born into a U.S. Air Force family, Bob spent his early childhood in many different places throughout the world to include France and Germany. He spoke fluently in both of these languages. His family also lived in Alaska before settling in Bossier City, Louisiana. Upon graduation from Bossier High School, class of 1970, Bob went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech in 1976 with a B.S. in Finance. He then attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport graduating with a 4.0 majoring in accounting. He worked for many years at the Shreveport Housing Authority running the accounting department. Bob had a knack for calculus and trigonometry along with his witty personality.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Faye Simpson; and his brother Danny L. Simpson.
His memory will be carried on by his beloved daughters, Shelley Rhea Simpson and Rachel Dale Ratley, and his sister, Lonita James (husband, Terry), and his Uncle Jim Simpson (98 years old) in Idabel, OK, and sister-in-law Blair Simpson, and grandsons, Patrick Justin Patterson (wife, Callie), John Michael Guyton, and granddaughter, Ella Mae Guyton, and three great granddaughters; Parker, Peyton and Palmer Patterson. And numerous, nieces, nephews and many devoted friends.
Please join the family and friends on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 at HIll Crest Memorial Park to celebrate his life graveside at 11:00 am with Dr. Randy Harper officiating.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Steve Robinson as he was an immense supporter of Bob throughout the years and a devoted friend who always took the time to be with him. And to the caretakers at Pilgrim Manor Nursing home and Willis Knighton Bossier for taking such good care during his illnesses.
