In 1980, at the age of 23, Brad enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent most of his 20 career serving both the Air Force and Army as a meteorologist. He was a Desert Storm Veteran and spent time in the Bosnian War Conflict. During his career as a meteorologist, he briefed several US Presidents, the Pope, and many other interesting people. After his retirement to Louisiana, Brad worked as a Training Administrator at Barksdale AFB for over 15 years doing what he loved most; teaching meteorology.
Brad loved God, his country, his family, and his church. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He treasured his time with his church family. Their love, prayers, and encouragement were invaluable.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jo Edda and Al Medlin; his father, Robert Huffman; and his brother, Billy Medlin.
Brad is survived by his wife, Cheryl McCoy Medlin; daughter, Danielle Holz (Matt); sons, Jeremy Medlin (Kayla), John Medlin, Shayne Medlin (Gwyn), and Bobby Goodin; sisters, Diane Funatella and Dana Howard (Michael); brothers, David Medlin (Tammy) and CJ Huffman; grandchildren, Samuel and Kaitlyn Champlain and Taylor Duplantis and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Brad Alan Medlin at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Central Assembly. Inurnment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Assembly to the Family Life Center Fund in lieu of traditional memorial gifts.
