Born on May 21, 1965, to Shelton John and Eloyce Sheffield, Bubba was raised in Haughton, Louisiana and part of Haughton High School’s class of 1983. He dedicated 33 years of service to the Bossier Parish School System, retiring as the respected leader of the plumbing department.
Beyond his career, Bubba was a well respected farrier for over 30 years. Widely regarded as the "best in the business," he was a master of his trade and took great pride in passing those skills down to his grandsons, ensuring his legacy would continue through their work.
To know Bubba was to love him. He never met a stranger and was a one-of-a-kind soul with a heart of gold and a smile that brightened every day. Whether he was under a horse or sharing one of his famous "stories” he left people better than he found them. A true fighter with a joyful spirit, he was the king of "lots of laughs" and created a lifetime of great memories for everyone lucky enough to cross his path.
Above all his titles, Bubba was the best husband, Dad, Pepaw, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a blessing to his family and a steady hand to his community, touching countless hearts with his kindness.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Tina French Sheffield; daughters, Kristina Shaw and husband Justin, and Jessica Stevens and husband Robby; grandchildren, Cayden Shaw and wife Lauren, Landon Ruybal and wife Maycee, Carter Shaw and girlfriend Alli, Braxton Ruybal, Ella Stevens, JR Stevens, Mason Stevens, Landon Stevens, and Eli Stevens; and great-grandchildren, Case Shaw and Emery Claire Ruybal. He also leaves behind his brother, Johnny Sheffield and wife Jeannie; sisters, Jeannie McClung, Gay Ganey, and Charlotte Milam and husband Keith; as well as Rocky and Ginger French, Ricky and Shari French, Steve Netherton, and many nieces, nephews, and beloved rodeo family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelton John and Eloyce Sheffield, and mother and father -in-law Sherman and Eleanor French.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cayden Shaw, Carter Shaw, Landon Ruybal, Braxton Ruybal, Justin Shaw, and Robby Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be the plumbing department at Bossier Parish Schools and lifelong rodeo friends.
