Christine "Chris" Mary Keenan

Christine "Chris" Mary Keenan, age 90, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Chris was born March 29, 1935, in London, England to Arthur Leslie Ford and Elsie Alberta Chittenden.

Chris moved to the United States with her USAF husband, Billy G. Knippers, in 1958. She became a naturalized US citizen in 1964. A longtime banker, initially with Bossier Bank and Trust, Chris was one of the original employees at Citizens National Bank where she worked her way up from assistant branch manager to Associate Vice President. She loved her bank family and worked full time until she was 79. After retiring from banking, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Christus Health until her health began to decline in her late 80's.

Chris was very outgoing and if there was something going on in town, she wanted to be there. She was very active in the Krewe of Gemini, serving as Secretary for many years and was the Duchess of Arkansas Gemini X. She loved to travel and in addition to visiting England regularly to see her family, she also traveled to many destinations in the US, Canada and Europe.

Chris is survived by her son, Gary Knippers from Benton, LA, and his longtime girlfriend, Holly Guice, Gary's daughters, Krista Knippers with her husband Dr. Larry Sasaki and their son, Luke Sasaki, from Shreveport, LA, and Kara Danish with her husband, Dr. Timothy Danish from Shreveport, LA; daughter, Linda Knippers and her partner, Eric Whitney, from Hollis, NH; sister, Rosemary Gout, from London, England, along with several nieces, nephews and their children in the UK, and longtime friend Chuck Murray of Haughton, LA.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Ford of York, England; daughter-in-Law, Gary's wife, Pamela Knippers, and former husband, Billy G. Knippers.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A visitation for Chris will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all the wonderful nurses from Christus Hospice, especially Stuart and Kristi, as well as health aid Debbie. The family would also like to thank Christine from Home Instead for the loving care she provided and Vince Avery for making sure that Chris' hair always looked lovely.
