Claude Dawson Martin

Memorial services for Claude Dawson Martin will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gene Gibson, pastor, Beulah Land Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 8:30 A.M. until service time at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin was born July 1, 1935 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Marguerite (Ames) and Claude R. Martin and passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He was a U. S. Marine veteran serving in the Phillipines, Japan, and Okinawa and was a deck hand for many years at the Horseshoe.. Mr. Martin loved and had a collection of model light houses. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sandra Gensen. He is survived by his loving wife Jo Ellen Martin of Shreveport, three daughters, Becky Anthony and husband Dan of Ft. Wayne, IN, Debbie Funderburk and husband Wallace of Elm, Grove, LA, Jacqie Yates and husband Philip of Princeton, LA. he is also survived by his six grandchildren, Jessica Anthony, Jenifer Anthony, Madison Royer, Cody Martin, Ashton Yates, and Nevaeh Yates, and one great grandchild, Leanora Lock.
