

Deborah Reneau Bennett “Debbie,” age 73, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Debbie was born February 23, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Howard Nathan and Bessie Whatley Reneau.
The baby girl of eight children, she was the last remaining member of the Reneau family. Debbie attended Northwood and North Caddo High School and spent her early years in Belcher, Louisiana, where she barrel raced in her younger years. In 1972, she met the love of her life, Bobby Bennett, and together they later settled in Vivian, Louisiana. In the 1980s, she became an ordained minister, traveling across the country to share her faith through revivals. She went on to serve her community for many years as an apartment manager until they moved to Shreveport and later retired.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, spending time cooking for her beloved Yorkies, Max and Julie, tending to her flower beds, and talking on the phone with friends and family. Debbie had a lively spirit and loved to joke and laugh. She also enjoyed shopping, especially for clothes and shoes, and was never without her favorite cigarettes, Eve 120s.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Bennett of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter, Kellie Davis and husband William of Stonewall, Louisiana; son, Chris Reneau and girlfriend Jenna Philley of Santa Maria, California; grandchildren, Meagen Foust and fiancé Logan Ellis of Marshall, Texas, Logan Foust and wife Rylie of Marshall, Texas, Landen Foust and Ayden Mourad of Stonewall, Louisiana, Garret Perkins and Beau Brady of Blanchard, Louisiana, Dylan Matteson of Shreveport, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Emory King, Kasen King and Mayvri Ellis of Marshall, Texas and Logan and Rylie’s baby due September 2026 (they just surprised her with the news right before she got sick); many nieces and nephews. And most of all, her pride and joy Yorkies, Max and Julie.
She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Bessie Reneau of Belcher, Louisiana; sisters and brother, Katherine Bounds of Dixie, Louisiana, Lorene Bley Griffing of Euless, Texas, Clara Ruth Coffee of Garland, Texas, Clariece Latham of Longview, Texas, Bobby Reneau of Garrison, Texas, Tressa Palmer Jones of Ruston, Louisiana, Juanita Barnum of Brownwood, Texas; in laws, Jewell and Leo Chadwick of Elm Grove, Louisiana, Earl Bennett of Elm Grove, Louisiana, and her oldest daughter, Tina Holt (1971-2024) of Blanchard, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Logan Foust, Landen Foust, Ayden Mourad, Logan Ellis, William Davis and Craig Foust.
A visitation for Debbie will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 E., Haughton, Louisiana 71037 followed by the burial at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
