Funeral services for Dr. Don L. Sandifer, 87, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2015, at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 at the funeral home.
Dr. Sandifer was born in Logansport, LA on July 9, 1928, and passed away on August 20, 2015, in Shreveport, LA.
He graduated from Logansport High School and went on earn his medical degree at LSU. He also served as a medical doctor in the Air Force. After the military, he settled in Logansport, LA and married Eleanor Averett. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a physician in private practice where he cared for patients and made frequent house calls.
Dr. Sandifer was preceded in death by his parents Vollie and Estelle Sandifer; wife Eleanor Averett Sandifer; sisters Wayne Coneway, and Cynthia Rowland.
He is survived by his son Scott Sandifer of Shreveport, LA and his daughter Kim Sandifer of Austin, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
