

Don grew up experiencing different cultures and foreign places through the various Military Bases that his family lived throughout his childhood.
After receiving his bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech University in Civil Engineering, Don immediately joined the Navy Seabees where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return home, he then went on to attain his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech.
With his entrepreneurial spirit, he opened his own consulting engineering and land surveying firm after receiving his Professional Engineering and Professional Land Surveying licenses. He continued his practice, faithfully serving Northeast Louisiana, for nearly 40 years.
Don has served his community as an engineer and land surveyor with a passion for his work, holding each and every project to the highest standard. His brilliance and abilities as an engineer and land surveyor will live on through the numerous projects he worked on to enrich th4e community.
He was a great man, loving husband, devoted son, thoughtful father, and playful grandfather.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Oleta A. Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Janis Hatten Harrison; his father, Isaac Edwin Harrison of Bossier City, LA; his brother, Robert E. Harrison of Nashville, TN; daughters, Angela Harrison Vinet and husband Robert of Shreveport, LA; and Elizabeth harrison Clack and husband Jeremy of Monroe, LA; grandsons, Ethan Clack, Julien Vinet, William Vinet; and granddaughter, Caroline Clack.
