In loving memory of Dorothy Butterworth, born on November 23rd, 1931, and peacefully walking with the Lord on November 24th, 2023. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Joseph Lester Butterworth, her eldest daughter, Patricia Ann Butterworth, and her loving parents, James Oscar Bailey and Bertha Eugenia Nessmith Bailey.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Carol Jean Shaw, Robert Alan Butterworth, Tamara Lynn Wynn, and James David Butterworth. Her legacy extends to eight cherished grandchildren and six beautiful great grandchildren.
Dorothy’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith as a devoted Christian. As a dedicated housewife, mother, and grandmother, she poured her love into every role she embraced. Her nurturing spirit and selflessness left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.
Her green thumb and passion for gardening were evident in the beauty she cultivated, reflecting the nurturing spirit that defined her. Dorothy will be remembered for the warmth she shared and the seeds of love and compassion she planted in the hearts of all who knew her. May her legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire us all.
Services will be held to celebrate Dorothy's life at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steven Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Danny Antilley, David Shaw, Richard Shaw, Stacy Green, Landon Wilson and Charles Baird.
