Dorothy Hughart

Canely Hadford and Sally May Beavers Powers welcomed Dorothy Ellen into this world on September 28, 1943 in Russell County, Virginia. “Dorothy” as she was known, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy worked for over 20 years as a nurse in the Nursing Home industry. Dorothy retired at the age of 67 to take care of her husband Bill until he passed away in April of 2018. Dorothy loved to read and would talk for hours with family and friends. She passed away on May 11, 2022 as a result of a car accident.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband, Bill; her parents; one daughter, Karen Martensen; one grandson, Casey Beavers; brothers: Johnny Sizemore and Larry Powers; sisters: Carol Johnson and Sharon Griest. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lloyd Beavers (Mary), Allen Beavers (Donna) and Kenneth Hughart; daughters: Kathy Roberts (Randy) and Jackie Hughart; grandchildren: Stephen, Charlie, Rick, Karla, Lindsey, Billy and Brandon; sister, Lorretta Powers and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

A visitation will be held for family and friends on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.
