Elizabeth M. O’Connor, 85, of Bossier City, LA, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Born in Moline, Illinois, Elizabeth was the daughter of William T. Ladkin and Anna Mary Glynn Ladkin. After moving to Columbus, OH, Elizabeth met and married William E. O’Connor, Lt. Col. (Ret), and they shared 64 years of marriage.
Following high school and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (LSUS), Elizabeth graduated with a Master’s of Science in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. She was employed by CADA of Northwest Louisiana where she worked as a counselor. She and her husband, Bill, were long-time members of the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans where they met the Mueller Family, who held a very special place in Elizabeth’s heart. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, traveling and shopping. Some of her favorite trips involved travels with her husband to the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, Rome; the Medjugorje Pilgrimage in Bosnia Herzegovina, and other places across the globe and within the United States. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of family pets, and devotion to her children.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Mary; her sister, Jean Ladkin; her husband, Bill; and their son, Michael. She is survived by four children (Cathy, Bill, John, Elizabeth) and seven grandchildren (Alan, Katie, Christopher, Tiffany, Nicholas, Michael, Jessica).
Following a Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Chapel at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
