Elizabeth N. "Liz" Young

Funeral services for Elizabeth N. “Liz” Young, 58, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Midway Baptist Church in Sarepta, LA. Interment will follow in Old Athens Cemetery, Athens, LA. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Liz passed away after a brief illness May 12, 2011 in Shreveport. She was a Registered Nurse with Willi s- Knighton Medical Center with forteen years of service. Liz was a caring, devoted person who loved The Lord, her work, family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-three years, Jerry L. Young; father, Louie R. Newton; daughter, Katie Johnston and husband Adam; sisters, Annie Whaley and husband James; Michelle Thurgood; brother, Wayne “Fig” Newton and wife Shelia; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a Nursing Scholarship Fund in her honor, at Northwestern State University through Citizens National Bank, 2711 East Texas St., Bossier City, LA; 71111.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctor’s, Nurses, and Administration at Willis -Knighton Medical Center, for their love, care ,and support.
