Florence E. Attaway

Bossier City LA- Service for Florence Attaway, 74, will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. The family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Thursday May 31, 2012.

Florence was born June 15, 1937 in Longstreet Louisiana to the parents of Preston and Onie Strong and went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2012 at her home. She was a devoted pastor’s wife and a loving mother. Florence loved her church families, at Fillmore Baptist Church and Germantown Baptist church as much as her own family. She was a great cook who loved to cook for her church, friends and family. Florence loved to crochet and made all her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren blankets.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Almeda Walters; and a brother, Richard Strong.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty five years Brother Lewis Attaway; son, Vernon Attaway; daughters, Marie Raab and husband Brett, Karen McCart and husband Ronny and Donna Murray and husband Mike; sisters, Gloria McCutheon and husband Royce, and Louise Collinsworth. Florence also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express gratitude to, Dr. Michael Sewell, Dr. Chip McDonald, Pam Nail and the entire staff of Willis Knighton Hospice.
