He was born March 26, 1927 in Homer Louisiana to Floyd King Moore and Francis Louise Moore. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the military where he served in the National Guard and Air Force for 27 years. During this time, he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a medic. While stationed in Puerto Rico he met his wife of 39 years Anna Gomez Cruz of Yabucoa Puerto Rico. They raised eight children together and have 17 grandchildren. His life was full of adventure always traveling until his final days. He loved fishing and telling stories that were fishing tales that included alligators, snakes and black panthers. He loved playing dominos and poker…no one ever beat him, a weekly Saturday trip, to play video poker and sizzling seven at the Louisiana Downs casino. His daily routine consisted of breakfast at IHOP with his favorite server, Nancy.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Anna Gomez Cruz; son, Jaime Rivera; parents, and seven siblings.
Floyd Moore is survived by; his children, Wilfredo Moore and spouse Myong, Rey Moore and wife Myong, Ann Finton and husband Paul, Janelle Dougharty and husband Clayton, James "Jimbo" Moore and wife Susie, Anglia Gallagher and husband Michael, and Martha Moore Gomez; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
We know we will see you again one day. Until then, we will sure miss you, and your fun, tall, tales.
