Services to celebrate the life of our beautiful mother, Frances R. Mercer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel in Haughton, LA with Bro. Bert Langley and OG Saffell officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery in Saline, LA. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to services.
Frances was born in Saline, LA to Everett O'Dell Rogers and Eva Dee (Bishop) Rogers on November 19, 1939, and entered into eternal rest peacefully on January 3, 2022, after a brief illness.
Frances loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Watching LSU, Saints football, and March Madness was her favorite past time. She loved her cooking shows, reading books and working puzzles. She loved when her grandchildren called her just to chat; football was always the hot topic.
She retired as Office Manager from Coburns Supply Company after 25 years of service in 2017. Her co-workers lovingly called her Mom & she loved her work family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett O'Dell and Eva Dee Rogers; sons, Dennis Greene and Michael Greene.
Frances is survived by her children, Pamela Greene Boggs (James Martin), Tommy Martin (Angie), DeAnn Mercer McNeil (James Kline), James "Bubba" Mercer (Brandy); daughter-in-law, Susan Greene; grandchildren, Austin Greene, Ashley Brewer (Doug), Mallory Padgett, Madeline Boggs, Nolan Greene, Brooke Boggs, Trent Mercer, Micah Mercer, Hannah Mercer, Ty (Brandi) and Gavin (Baili) Martin, Enoch, Ephria, and Elihu Guimbellot, Steele and Slade McNeil; great grandchildren, Rhyan, Codi, and Lukus Brewer, Zane Greene, Tyler, Yuri, Tully Sullivan, Lane Boggs, and Evelyn Ball; siblings, Elaine Saffel (OG), Gloria Kirby (Marvin) and Billy Don Rogers (Suzie).
Pallbearers will be John Hammons, Jason Hay, Steve Hergengrader, Sonny Wade, Trent Mercer Micah Mercer, Steven Barber and Greg Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be John Harper and Josh Nickels.
The family would like to thank Dr. Larry Broadwell, Dr. Phillip Rozeman, and all of the staff at Willis Knighton Bossier who showed loving and compassionate care to our mother.
