

A Celebration of Life Service for Glen “Doodle Bug” Edison, age 88, of Shreveport, LA will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday February 11, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Haughton, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Danny Sikes of Sarepta, LA. and Rev. Lynn Foster of Shreveport, LA. Military Honors will follow conducted by the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Glen was born May 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL., and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday February 6, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. Glen proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He retired from Complete Auto Transit Service after 33 years of dedicated faithful service.
Glen was a loving, caring, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Glen was a friend to many and will be missed by all that knew him. He was a member of Church on the Rock in Shreveport and enjoyed music, especially playing the harmonica and guitar. He was always available to listen and share his thoughts in a friendly conversation with friends, but his greatest joy was spending time with his musical friends and family.
Surviving Glen is his loving and caring wife of 71 years, Wilma Edison of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Gloria Butler (Ronnie), Diana Adair (James), and Wanda and Donnie Ruff; brother, Bob Carlton; and sister, Janet King. He is preceded in death by his mother Mildred Carlton.
Pallbearers will be Delmer Meadows, Ralph Patterson, Gene Pace, Josh Butler, Curtis Brooks, Brandon Butler, and Samantha McClure. Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Ingles.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nelson and all the staff at Willis Knighton Pierremont Hospital and the nursing staff of Heritage Manor West in Shreveport.
