SHREVEPORT - Hugh Archibald Kerr, 45, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Friday, November 9. Hugh was born in Orange, CA and grew up in Newport Beach, CA. He was born to Brian Kerr and Peggy Barnes on December 18, 1972. He married his wife Teri Anne Hanisee in New Orleans, Louisiana in March of 2005. He welcomed the birth of his beautiful daughter, Alexandra, in November of 2007. He attended Humphreys College for his Bachelor of Science and obtained his MBA in 2003. He was the general manager of the commercial property management division at Vintage Reality, where his coworkers were family to him.
Hugh was a warm and loving man. Hugh’s smile and quick wit lightened the lives of the people who were lucky enough to have him in their life. He loved his job and enjoyed photography, but liked nothing more than spending holidays with his extended Hanisee family, his partner in life Teri Anne, and his little girl Alexandra. His happiest memories as a child were spending the summer with his cousins and brother at Lake Muldrew in Ontario, Canada.
Hugh is survived by his wife Teri Anne and his daughter Alexandra Marie, his mother Peggy Barnes, and brother Robert Kerr, his wife Deborah and their daughter Bella. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Brenna and Sean Hanisee, Cullen and Aidan Kerns, and his God daughter Lillian Hanisee. His in-laws will miss him dearly, Thomas, Brenda, Brandon, Patrick, and Robert Hanisee and Katherine Schell with husband Chris. He also leaves behind his loving cousins David, Brian, Kerry, and their children. He also leaves behind his step-mother Kitty Kerr, step-father Dale Barnes and step-brother Kelly. He is proceeded in death by his father, Brian Kerr and his two aunts Eleanor and Susan.
Memorial services have been set for Saturday, November 24 at St. John Berchman’s Cathedral in Shreveport, LA at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given in Hugh’s name mailed to St. John Berchman’s Catholic School Scholarship fund, 947 Jordan St., Shreveport, LA 71101.
