Jacqueline Constance Conner, 91, of Bossier City, LA, passed away peacefully in Bossier City at home with her family members present. She was born on October 16, 1931 in Holyoke, MA. She attended schools in Holyoke and attended Bossier Community College and took various courses there. Jacqueline spent most of her life working in the bookkeeping and tax preparation fields and was a Notary Public. She worked the polls as a Commissioner in Charge for many years.
Jacqueline Conner attended Barksdale Baptist Church and was very active in a lot of volunteer work and taught Sunday School for many years. She belonged to the Council on Aging where she was active in so many areas including Senior Olympics and taught water aerobics. In addition to working on the preparations for the yearly Senior Olympics, she regularly competed in the games earning many medals. Jacqueline enjoyed writing and wrote several books.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Edna Hamel; her husband, James Alton Conner and son, Thomas Lee Conner. She is survived by her daughters, Alice Lillie and her husband Stephen Lillie, Christine Lewis and her husband Bobby Lewis, and one foster daughter, Melissa Burton and her husband Ronny Burton. She is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine Zuturka, Theresa Peters and a brother, Ronald Hamel, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jacqueline will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Calvin Hubbard. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
