James had three children; preceded in death by son, James, Jr.; and survived by son, Rocky, and daughter, Kimberly. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Morgan; three nephews, Don Michael, Bryan (Brooke, Bryson, Braden), and Jon (Katie, Trent, Elle, Emmy), and many beloved cousins along with his faithful friend and mother of his two sons, Silvia Carboni. He was also preceded in death by wife, Tina; and cherished father and mother, Dan and Lorena Leon.
James was a self made General Contractor who was respected and loved as he treated each employee as family. He was very talented and it started at a very early age with the love of baseball. He lettered at Northwood High School All City, District, State baseball player. His passion was boating in Arkansas and the love of animals from horses to dogs, but his daily living was a passion for competitive sports.
To know James was to love him. He was full of life and loved to share stories and talk sports. After an encounter with him, you left with a smile on your face.
As a father, he had a fierce, unconditional and unending love for his children and God. If someone was in need, he was first in line to help. Sometimes his heart was too big for his body.
James is loved and missed more than he could ever imagine. Shreveport lost some of its dazzle when he departed.
There will be a Celebration of Life service for James on Monday, May 5, 2025, to begin at 10:00 AM, at Spirit Wind Ministries, 5280 Benton Road, Bossier City, Louisiana, 71111.
Go rest high on that mountain and be at peace our dearly beloved father, brother, uncle, great uncle, cousin and faithful friend until we meet again.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
Bless this bed that I lay upon
Before I lay down to sleep
I pray to Christ my soul to keep.
Four corners to by bed
Four angels at my head
One to watch, one to pray
Two to bear my soul away.
I go by sea, I go by land
The Lord hath made with His right hand
If any danger should come to thee
Sweet Jesus Christ deliver me.
He's the branch and I'm the flower
I pray God send me a happy hour
If I die before I wake
I pray to Christ my soul to take.
