James R. Paul, age 84 went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 1, 2011, after a short illness. He was born May 7, 1926 in Malvern, AR to Jim Paul Jr. and Lou Etta Wallis Paul. James served his country in the U.S. Navy as an amphibious boat operator in WWII, making landings in Okinawa, Saipan, and Iwo Jima. He worked for Cahn Electric Co. retiring after 32 years of faithful service, and was also the Chief Electrician for the State Fair of LA for 25 years. James was a member of the I.B.E.W. #194 for over 50 years. After retiring from the electrical industry, he enjoyed working at Huntington Golf Course as a course ranger, and was a member of the Red Fox Club. He worked in the circulation dept. for the Shreveport Times, and most recently worked for Rose Neath Funeral Home and Cemetery as an assistant. James was a long time member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church; where he loved singing in their choir. James was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Marie Liberto Paul, his parents; sister, Maxine Paul Knight; and brother, Wallace E. Paul. He is survived by four sons, Tony and wife Kim, David, Ricky and wife Vicky, John and wife Teri; step-daughter, Rene Piazza and husband Benny of Greenwood, LA; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Morgan Paul of Hutchison, KS; sister, Helen Lincks of Malvern AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Pickard officiating, and Pastor Jason Hebert assisting. Entombment will follow at Hill Crest Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Paul's grandsons: Bryan Paul, Brandon Paul, Matthew Paul, Michael Paul, Jonathon Paul and Christopher Paul.
