Jane Michele Burton

Jane Burton, age 77 passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in the comfort of her Bossier City home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on Monday, March 10, 1947, to the late Gordon Gathman, Sr. and Virdella Edith Taylor Gathman.

Jane obtained her associates in the medical field and supported her family through the years as an LPN. She always enjoyed taking care of others, providing the utmost compassion and care to those in need. In her later years, Jane became a stay at home mom, caring for her family.

Jane learned to crochet from her mother and loved crocheting in her spare time. She was a hunter early in life, she enjoyed riding motorcycles (as long as someone else was driving), and she enjoyed any kinds of craft work with her daughter.

Jane was preceded in passing by her parents, a brother, Gordon Gathman, Jr., and a sister, Thelma Gathman.

Left to cherish Jane's beautiful memories are her daughter, Audra Parker, one bonus daughter, Stacie Curtis and husband Jim, two sisters: Keo Gathman, Coral Cook, four grandchildren: Cheryl Wikkerink, John Wikkerink, Cody Berendes, Sarah Cox, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
