Jerry Eugene Lear (63), was born July 26, 1959 in Springfield, Illinois to Tom Lear and Marie (Collins) Lear McManus. He slipped from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 14, 2023 at 11:10 pm.
Jerry was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; father, Tom Lear; step-father, Thomas McManus; and brother, Tommy Lear.
He is survived by his mother, Marie McManus; sister, Michelle Lear (Jim); daughters, Samantha (Will) McComas and Brittney (Juliana) Penelas; son, Casey (Catherine) Lear; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, Cerise, Océan, Brayleigh, Paisley, and Jaxson. He is also survived by numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jerry was a skilled carpenter, roofer, and artist. He was always busy working on something or doing something to help someone else. He had a bigger than life personality and always had a smile on his face. He lived in multiple places throughout his life but lived the longest in Florida and Louisiana. He will be missed by many who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 US Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA. 71037.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lear, Kenny Collins, Howard Ruble, DeWayne Collins, Ian Barder and Rylie Hogan.
