Jewel Bradley-Williams
March 13, 1937- June 7, 2024
Jewel Dean Harris Bradley-Williams was born on March 13, 1937, to Thomas Mack Harris, Jr. and Lois Seamster of Minden, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents Annie Seamster and Columbus Seamster and paternal grandparents, Thomas Mack Harris, Sr. and Eva Harris, and her special aunt Estelle S. Moore. She accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with the St. Rest Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. B.F. Martin, Sr. While serving at Relentless Love Worship Center (Shreveport, LA.), under the leadership of Pastor Demario Tyson, she cherished her role as Head Church Mother and loved volunteering with the mission outreach ministry and other community projects. She served God with gladness and enjoyed sharing her personal testimony with everyone!
Jewel graduated from Webster High School in 1956. In 1962, Jewel graduated from Grambling College of Louisiana, now Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and later received additional certifications in Nursery School, Kindergarten/Early Childhood Education. Following graduation, she united in holy matrimony to Bobby Ray Bradley, of Winnfield, Louisiana on June 2, 1962. The couple was married for thirty-two years. To this union, two daughters (Feamula and April) were born. Also in 1963, Jewel began her career as an educator in Caddo Parish School System, where she retired after 26+ years of service. After retirement, she became a daycare center director, after-school youth coordinator, tutor, a substitute teacher, and a volunteer for several social service and non-profit organizations. For over 25 years she was a member of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. On November 28, 1998, Jewel married Columbus Williams, Sr. of Bay City, Michigan.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Columbus Williams, Sr.; two daughters, Feamula Ra’Cine Bradley, April Deaquanette Bradley-Abraham (Darrell), Grandchildren: Rhema Isaiah Getter, Zoe Abeni Getter, Zion Grace Abraham, Bonus sons and daughters: Columbus Williams, Jr. (Sharon)-Arlington, Texas, David Williams (Bridgette)-San Diego, California, Carol Williams-Arlington, June Donota-Clearwater, Florida, JoAnn Childress (Irving, Sr.)-both deceased-New Jersey, Bonus Grandchildren: Darrell Lydell Abraham, Jr., Jayden Kai Abraham, Candyce Young, Caliph Williams, Ciara Williams, Johnathon Wilson, Darryl Williams, Jasmine Monroe, Tony Monroe, Terrel Monroe, Abraham Monroe, Jalen Williams, Adrianne Williams, Kali Williams, Gabrielle Williams, Irving Childress, Jr., Cherise Childress, Makayla Childress, Nykisha Donata, Ellexus Donata, 20 great-grandchildren, godchildren: Philemon Kelly, Criston Tenille Gipson, Samuel Clark and her beloved sister-cousins Eva Markray, Barbara Markray-Parker, Canary Markray Sterling, Linder Markray Green, Christine Markray Chipp (deceased), and all of the ladies that she affectionately referred to as "Jewel's Girls"!
Her legacy will be forever remembered as she lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched! Her name was befitting…she was indeed a Jewel !
Services in her honor will begin at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 22, 2024 with a Celebration Of Life, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA and and the Committal Service to follow, in the Cemetery.
