John B. Crawford of Shreveport, LA passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hattiesburg, MS on January 26, 1948. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy F. Crawford, his father, John J. Crawford, and his stepfather, Walter J. Decuir. John was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of LSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary Science.
John worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist for many years in the Willis-Knighton Health System until his retirement. John is survived by his cousin, Tom Crawford, and his many friends and co-workers. Pallbearers will be Anthony Blessing, John Dalby, Doug Efferson, Michael Thurman, Timothy Eddington, and Randy Cochran.
Funeral will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Yogie and Friends Cat Sanctuary at www.yogieandfriends.org.
