Judith Anne Christie West Washington

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services celebrating the life of Judy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Dr. Pat Day, of First United Methodist Church Shreveport, officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends and family at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Judy was born in Dallas, TX. She was the first born child of Mary Louise and Cleve Craig Christie on December 31, 1940. She was a long term resident of Houston, TX until she met and married Joseph R. West on her birthday of 1959, at which point, they moved to Shreveport, LA. During the time she was helping Joe get his PhD they raised 2 children, Deborah Lynne and Kimberly Gayle. After 13 years of wanting a son, Joseph Raymond Jr, was born. In March of 1994 she married James C. Washington. When he retired from GM they traveled everywhere together. She loved to fish and travel, but her true love was her family and friends. Other than being a wonderful and caring mom and Nana, she was a soft spoken true southern lady in every sense of the word.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Louise Adams Christie, her father Cleve Craig Christie, her sister Carol C. Christie her first husband Joseph R. West.

She is survived by her husband James C. Washington of Shreveport, LA, children Deborah L. West of Bossier City, LA, Kim G. Vines and husband Ron of Benton, LA., and Joe R. West, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Bossier City, LA, grandchildren Blake K. and Hannah L. Vines of Shreveport, LA, Shae M. Vines of Benton, LA, Ashlie B. Vines of Benton, LA, and Mikayla West of Bossier City, LA, one great grandchild Landon L. Derouen of Shreveport, LA, and great-grandbaby Vines "on the way", sisters Linda S. Bullinger and husband Jim of Houston, TX, and Jan E. Frank and husband Ken of Oyster Creek, TX, brother Craig Christie, Jr. of San Antonio, TX

Pallbearers will be Jim Bullinger, Blake Vines, Josh Christie, Bryan Smith, Paul Vines and Dennis Jenkins.
