Life Celebration services for Kathleen Craig are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM on the day of the service.

Robert and Shirley Stone Rutherford welcomed Kathleen Jannette into this world on August 29, 1956 in Denver, CO. Mrs. Craig passed peacefully as the Lord called her home on February 24, 2018 at her home in Lake Charles, LA at the age of 61. She was a carefree spirit who enjoyed talking, with an out of this world sense of humor. She loved her family, especially her kids and grandkids. Kathleen was a strong, intelligent, woman. She went above and beyond to care for those she loved and stood up for what was right. She could make anyone laugh even in times of trouble. Kathleen would go out of her way to help. She was always there for anyone who needed to talk or just a shoulder to cry on. Kathleen could be very serious if needed and handle business like no other. She knew how to have a good time. Her favorite thing was cranking up the stereo to sing and dance. Now, she has the honor to sing and dance with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Her kids and grandkids, and family will dearly miss her. Until we meet again, save us a spot on the dance floor.

Preceding Kathleen in death are her parents, brother Eddie Rutherford, and sister Cindy Simpson. Left to cherish her memory are her “number one” son, Jason Lawrence Craig; daughters, Kasey Christopher (Marcus), Courtney Craig (Christopher Irwin), Elisha Diane Smith, and Blair Bertrand (Brent); grandchildren, Gabriel Cortes, Anthony Cortes, Lauren Cortes, David Cortes, Isabelle Craig, Ava Craig, Marley Woods, Harlow Woods, Landon Smith, Preston Bertrand and Mason Bertrand; brothers, Robert Rutherford (Lola) and Frederick Rutherford; sisters, Pamela Craig (Lawrence) and Elizabeth Chastun (John); and numerous other family members and dear friends.
