Larri Jo Jennings, age 85, passed away on February 28, 2026. Born on March 4, 1940, in Beaumont, Texas, she was a longtime resident of Benton, Louisiana. Faithful, devoted, and resilient, Larri will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew and loved her.
Larri was raised in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. She attended Bossier Elementary and Bossier High School, graduating in 1957.
For most of her life, Larri worked in clerical roles. She especially enjoyed working on military bases throughout Louisiana and Texas.
Larri was married for fifty years to Dale O. Jennings. Together they raised their daughters and built a life centered on family. Her three greatest loves were her church, her family, and her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A devoted member of Cypress Baptist Church for more than 40 years, Larri sang in the choir, served as a Sunday School secretary, and later worked with the counting committee.
Larri was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and one of her greatest joys was attending her family’s school and church functions.
“MeMe”, as she was lovingly called by her family, will be deeply missed. But her family rejoices in knowing that she has been welcomed into Heaven because of her faith in Jesus Christ.
Larri was preceded in death by her mother, Larry V. Hunt, father, Joseph M. Hunt, and husband, Dale O. Jennings.
She is survived by her daughters, Joani H. Rowland (Mike), Suzie Lester (Rusty), Laura Jennings, Shannon Foster (Charles), her grandchildren, J. V. Rowland, Alex Pike, James Lester, Loni Johnson, Stacy Loe, and 12 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willis Knighton Bossier's step down unit for their comfort and care.
A visitation to celebrate Larri's life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Cypress Baptist Church from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Cypress Baptist Church Worship Ministry.
