

Larry worked for over 40 years in the liquor and beverage distribution industry, ultimately attaining the position of General Manager before his retirement. He later began working for the Transportation Security Administration, where he continued working toward a second retirement.
Larry loved traveling to Destin and taking trips to the mountains of Arkansas with friends. He and Melinda especially enjoyed fly fishing together. He also had a passion for exploring history. Together, they shared a love for camping, jet skiing, and traveling to many different places.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Charles and Lillie Mae Basco; and his sisters, Betty Basco and Barbara Bullard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Melinda Basco, whom he affectionately referred to as 'Babycakes'.
Also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Kathryn Jacks (Dale) of Little Elm, Texas; brothers, John Basco (Donna) of Blanchard, Louisiana, Dennis Basco of Tyler, Texas, and Robert Basco (Christy) of Coppell, Texas.
Larry will also be missed by many nieces and nephews: Katy J. Triefenbach (Jeremy), Emily Jacks (Chris), Amy Eggen (Curt), Ryan Bullard (Celeste), Michael Basco (Ashley), Garret Basco, Laurie B. Tuccio (Gene), Matthew S. Basco (fiancé Suzie), Thomas A. Basco, Casey N. Basco, Melissa D. Byles (Mackie), Christina M. Brooks (Dusty) and Brandy L. Corbett (Dayton). Larry loved his time playing with the triplets "the babies" and watching them grow up to become young adults. He also loved playing with his great niece, Maddison, and great nephews, Dillon and Calvin. They love their Uncle Larry very much and they will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 1:00 pm with Deacon John P. Basco officiating.
The family wishes to thank his special caregiver LaTasha N. Walker for her loving care and compassion for Larry and Melinda during this time. The family also extends sincere appreciation to the staff of The Columns of Bossier City for their professionalism, care, and compassion in the care of Larry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
