Larry was a proud graduate of Calvary Baptist Academy. While attending Calvary, he played on the school’s football team, creating an everlasting brotherhood with his teammates.
He was a “Jack-of-all-trades" and loved working with his hands. His craftsmanship led him to his career at Prysmian Group, formally known as General Cable, with his “work family” for the last fifteen years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents. Left to cherish his memory is; his brother Charles R. O’Keefe, Jr., his niece Magen Krutilek and nephews Michael and Eric O’Keefe, two great nieces, one great nephew, his aunt Elizabeth Kruitof and uncles Johnny Kruitof, Clifton Butler, and Mack Butler. His is also survived by his lifelong companion, Laurie “Lou” Dyche and her children James Dyche and Austin Teague. A long with a host of family and friends.
The family wants to thank Dr. Robert Martin, Willis Knighton’s’ oncology team and staff, Dr. Mark Smith and the Carpenter House for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or any organization of choice.
Visitation will be held May 22, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA.
A time will be set for a private family inurnment.
