Born on December 7, 1944, Larry was the oldest son of Howard and Virginia Smithson Spinney. Larry grew up in Flint, MI and was one of six children. Larry had a personality and a smile that drew people to him. He worked most of his adult life as a superintendent at General Motors. It was GM that brought him and his family to North Louisiana in 1979. After his career he retired in Hot Springs Village Arkansas and kept a busy schedule of playing golf 3-4 times a week. He often achieved his goal of shooting his age. He enjoyed playing music, singing karaoke and writing songs. He also enjoyed being outside, either relaxing in his hot tub, pitching horseshoes or hunting deer. Any conversation with Larry would often turn to a story about one of his kids or grandkids. He was a faithful Christian, Dad, Grandpa, and friend. He will be deeply missed!
