Lonita James

Her life story began in Oklahoma where, as a military child, she had the great opportunity to travel the world and see things most people only dream about.

Some of her adventures include Holland windmills and going to school in the dark in Alaska due to the 24-hour darkness that occurs there. Germany was her all time favorite place to live.

Nita was the best stay-at-home mom anyone could ever hope for. Her focus was to raise her three "stair step" daughters to be godly women. She was very active in their schools working in the PTA and was the leader for the Brownies and Girl Scouts living by example.

She enjoyed cooking especially Sunday lunches after church. Her fried chicken was the best! She would always serve herself last taking whatever was left to eat.

She had a servants heart that loved children. After raising her daughters, Nita and her mother started a daycare in the home where so many children lives were touched by her love and care.

She loved camping and making s'mores over a campfire. In the 1980's, she began her hairdresser career.

Nita loved what she did and the people she worked with so much that she did not retire until she was 75 years old. When she retired, she enjoyed spending quality time with her loving husband, Terry and her family.

In addition to her parents, Nita was preceded in death by: her brothers, Bob Simpson and Danny Simpson.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Terry Wayne James; daughters, Tina Bair Dunigan (husband, Ron Dunigan), Donna Bair Edwards (husband, Jay Edwards), and Gail Bair; Stepmother, Bessie Marie Crocker; Brother,Jimmy Don Crocker; Sister, Darlene Crocker Stanfield; Stepchildren, Michael Wayne James, Michelle James, and Joseph James as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
