Louisa B. Collett, 94, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on March 22, 2026. Louisa will be remembered by those who knew and loved her—a compassionate, kind-hearted, hard-working, and thoughtful presence throughout her life. Born in San Antonio, Texas, in August of 1931, she carried with her a steady devotion to learning, family, and the quiet joys that make a life well lived.
Louisa earned her bachelor’s degree at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, an achievement that reflected both her diligence and her lifelong respect for education.
Professionally, Louisa enjoyed her work as an editor of the Cities Service Companies Magazine. She also served as editor of an art museums magazine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, combining a keen editorial eye with an appreciation for culture and the arts.
Away from work, Louisa was an avid reader and a profound genealogist. She found meaning in stories—both those on the page and those traced through family lines—approaching each with patience, curiosity, and deep thoughtfulness.
Louisa is survived by her sister, Nancy MacRoberts, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Collett; her sisters, Sally Devine and Mary Davis; brother-in-law, Pete MacRoberts; and her nephews, Malcolm and Conrad MacRoberts.
