Mr. McGregor was born December 11, 1946 in Springfield, MO to the late Elmer Lavern and Geraldine Frances Humble McGregor and was called home May 11, 2010 in Shreveport, LA following a courageous battle with cancer. His passing was peaceful. After hearing his granddaughters and his daughter tell him that they loved him and it was okay for him to pass from this life into the arms of God, Mac took his last breath and moved on to Heaven. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport. Mr. McGregor served his grateful nation by joining the U.S. Marine Corp.
Mr. McGregor was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memories and tell his story will be his beloved wife and soul mate of 26 years; Cathy Bohon McGregor, one daughter; Kelly Farmer and husband Chris, whom he loved so much; two sisters: De Anna McGregor, and Trish Alexander and husband Curtis; three grandchildren: Kelsey, Cassidy, and Colby Farmer, who were the lights of his life; his dear friends, John and Honey Martin, Check and Katherine Wing Joe, along with a host of extended family members and many great friends.
Honoring Mr. McGregor as pallbearers will be Chris Farmer, Curtis Alexander, John Martin, Josh Fisher, Check Wing Joe, and Jason Ingalls.
The family would like to thank all our wonderful friends for their prayers and support since this journey began. You are loved and appreciated more than you will ever know. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
Mac loved good wine, old Westerns, gospel music, and building flower beds for Cathy; But, most of all, he loved being Pappy Mac.
