

Margo graduated from Bossier High School in 1946 and married Joel P. Tharp of Bossier City, LA. In 1949. They were married 56 years, raising two children living in LA., TX., GA., CT., and retired in Tampa, FL. Margo will be remembered for her charming Southern accent and gentle manners.
She was a talented seamstress and cook who loved to make steak with rice and gravy for her grandchildren. She always had fresh baked cookies for her grandchildren and friends.
Margo worked as a hospital volunteer and was an active member of Lake Magdalene Methodist Church in Tampa.
Those left to cherish her memory are: Daughter, Gayle Tharp Spinosa (Nick) of Tampa, FL., Son, David Tharp (Christiana) of Weeki Wachee, FL.
Grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana; Leisha Spinosa Collins (Christopher) of Land O’ Lakes, FL., Zachary Spinosa (Caitlin) of Satellite Beach, FL., Michael Tharp (Caitlin) of New York, NY., and Brian Tharp (Kate) of Hinsdale, IL.
Margo was blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Alexis and Nicholas Collins, Zander and Taylor Spinosa, Tate Tharp, and Dylan and Mason Tharp.
Preceding her in death are: her husband, Joel P. Tharp, parents, Joe and Marrie Nickel, and her four brothers: Donald, Charles, Lawrence, and Clarence Nickel.
A graveside service will be held for the family at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Monday, December 14,2025 at 1:00pm. Pastor Jack Alumbaugh will officiate.
