3years today my dear friend. Miss you every day.

Dear Mary. I did it. I did the thing you told me to shut up and do even though the entire deck was stacked against me. I'm about a year in, and I'm thinking of you tonight after particularly... trying day at the JWTC. I had to pull the "Mean Mary" card on my students. I sure do miss you right now and everything I do there is to make you proud. Long live your legacy.

I can still hear Ms. Mary calling out 'Blondie!' whenever she spotted me at the 26OWS - I am never going to forget that.  I loved her 'take no prisoners and accept me as I am" way of living and I hope that a bit of it rubbed off.  She was such a great person and lived every day to the fullest - I was so lucky to have known her and she is truly missed.

My name is Ann Williams and I am in charge of the visitorside concessions at Haughton High School football games. This is how I first met Ms. Mary along with her other friends that ran the chains for every home game. I sure do appreciate how she and the others were always so very nice to us concession folks. I especially loved being able to spoil them with cups of hot chocolate during our cold. winter home games. Ms. Mary I send you lots of hugs all the way up to heaven and I know that you are fondly  looking down on that field that you worked for so many years with such pride and happiness. I sure will miss seeing you on our home games.

I met Mary at Lajes AB Azores, she was one of my dive buddies. Oh Mary, I wish I had looked for you sooner. But being an active duty single mom of three, I just did not have the time. Girl I will miss you

I met Mary 21 years ago and we became friends over mutual Navy friends and our love of dogs. She introduced me to hockey and the occasional (RME) football game. The Bucs always seemed to play the Saints (and win) on her birthday. She loved diving and sharks and photography. I’ll miss the beautiful photos of her dive trips. Most of all I will miss my friend. Fair winds my dear friend. 

Ms. Mary,
I along with everyone else still here at the 26th will miss seeing you come in the morning and brighten everyone's day. I spent half of my military career here with you. You are the closest work friend I've had since entering weather. I'll miss our football talks and making fun of new Lt's who try to draw fronts on tropical systems. There is a huge hole within the squadron now and will never be filled again. Miss you. RIP Mary. 

Extremely saddened to hear about the passing of Mrs. Mary.  She was a Bandit legend and despite her tough demeanor, had a heart of gold.  She was a fighter, and her presence will be missed at 26 OWS and beyond.  Praying for peace and comfort for her family and all those she touched as they grieve this loss but celebrate her life and impact.

I'm saddened to hear of the loss of Ms. Mary. I had the opportunity to work with her for 6 years. She was tough as nails and expected a lot out of all her forecasters. She reminded us that Navy METOC (weather) was second to none but under her guidance she would show us the way to forecast correctly. She was feisty and sarcastic...I loved it. She was also a sweet woman who really cared for all the Airmen of the 26 OWS.  She had an impact on me as a young Airman that I carry with me today. My condolences to the family of Mary and to the 26 OWS team. 

I WILL MISS YOU AND YOUR QUICK WIT CHIEF. WEEKENDS AT WAFFLE HOUSE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. REST IN PARIDISE.

Miss Mary was so much more than a trainer or weather guru.  She filled the role of a mother/grandmother figure for many of us.  There is not a soul that passed through the Barksdale "Hub" who wasn't touched in someway by her unrelenting spirit and unshakeable heart.

I remember she would smack me upside the head for doing something stupid--or more appropriately--she'd just look at me and then I'd smack myself. 

She was there during my divorce, helped me back onto my feet, and years later, drove the 7 hrs to Alabama to attend my next wedding, approvingly.  

I will never forget how instantaneous her friendship with my mother blossomed. 

Whenever I had a question about work or life, she was always available to listen or advise.

Mary,  I'm still shell shocked that you are gone.  You cared so much about your Trainee's and were larger than life.  I've heard so much about your, "smack to the back of the head", that meant so much to everyone who received one.

You were one of a kind, and truly a loving Mom to your puppies, and a caring friend to me.  Thank you for being who you were, and unafraid to live life on your terms.  Your spirit will be ever so missed.  💝

I will miss Mary with fond memories of our Military Brat life . Our paths first crossed when we were in high school when our dads were stationed on Governors Island in the Coast Guard. As such as best friends during formative years often do  , we shared many “firsts”… Jobs, boyfriends, and discovering our passions and future goals. She was an only child and I was oldest of 5 , so I loved spending time at her house enjoying her cocker spaniel, watching football in relative silence. We learned to bowl and play tennis. Later we were to meet again… she was my Maid of Honor ( when I decided to get married rather than join the Air Force with her as we had planned.) I visited her at her parents home in St Pete Beach after they retired . And lastly at our 2006 reunion in Governors Island. We had a great time catching up and re visiting old haunts and she graciously took loads of pictures and sent to me. Her favorite parting words to me were always “Keep the Faith”, so I will honor her by doing just that !
