courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 30, 1973. Missy grew up in Bossier City, moved to Jonesboro her freshman year and graduated from Jonesboro Hodge High School and studied at Louisiana Tech. She married Rickey Shankle in 2002.
Missy worked as a physicians assistant, a dental assistant and also went to
cosmetology school and worked as a manicurist. After her son Cole was born in 2010, she had the most important job of all, being a wonderful loving mother.
Missy was a beautiful, sweet, fun-loving, free-spirited, life of the party, always smiling, animal loving person. She was the most awesome sister, cousin, friend, wife to Rickey, and mom to Cole. She fought her cancer so hard for so long!
She is survived by her husband Rickey and son Cole; her brother Robbie Wallis and wife Susan;
her sisters Tonya Wallis Yarbrough and Kim Wallis Smith; her nieces Lauren, Tiffany, Kallie and Kayla; nephews Josh and Zack; and a host of very special great nieces and nephews, amazing cousins, aunts and uncles.
Missy was preceded in death by her father Robert L Wallis Jr.; her mother Susan “Sue” Keel;
her stepmother Linda Wallis; and her nephew Blake Smith.
Life will never be the same without her. We have peace knowing she was welcomed with open arms by her mom and dad and they are laughing it up in Heaven!
Celebration of life services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 28, officiated by Dr. Gavin Spinney, with visitation preceding the service at 2:00 pm at Hill Crest Funeral Home, 601 Highway 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037.
