

On Friday, January 9, 2026, O.D. Alexander, Jr. heard the call of God and stepped from this life into the very presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This event occurred at his home in Bossier City after a long battle with cancer.
CMSgt O.D. Alexander Jr., Ret. was born on January 1, 1930 in Lepanto, AR. After high school, he enlisted in the USAF and spent 21 years serving until his retirement in 1970. His career took him to bases in Kansas, Louisiana, California, New Mexico, France, Africa, and retired at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Texas. God gave him someone to share this Air Force adventure with in his beloved wife Lola Faye Alexander who married him in 1952 in Bossier City, LA. While on this adventure, they had three children. After his retirement, they raised their children in Bossier City, LA. In 1996, Lola lost her battle with cancer. After several years, O.D. met Yvonne Jones and love found a home in O.D.’s heart once again.
O.D. Alexander, Jr. was a man of faith who loved God, his family, his church, and his country. He was a loving husband and father who stood on what he believed and instilled these values within the lives of his children. He was a long-time member and deacon of Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA; where God used him mightily to identify the needs of the people and worked hard to meet those needs. He left a great impact on all who had the privilege to meet and work with him on this side of Heaven.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his wife Lola Faye Alexander; his parents Ola Donald and Myrtle Alexander, and his five siblings Ben Alexander, Warren G. Alexander, Ina Bowling, Edward “Buddy” Alexander, and Edna Pertuit; and one grandson Kyle Vogelgesang.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Alexander; one daughter, Beverly Hughes and husband Anthony; two sons, Richard Alexander and wife Annalisa, and Ronald Alexander and wife Kathie. Also survived by five granddaughters, Amanda Franklin and her husband Dale, Natalie Gillespie and her husband Scott, Laura Alexander, Samatha Lineberry and her husband Josh, and Kelly Cable and husband Robby; three grandsons, Paul Alexander and wife Tiffany , Phillip Hughes, and Cody Alexander and wife Madie; and eight great-grandchildren Shanna Winter, Ethan Franklin, Colton Alexander, Greyson Alexander, Maverick Alexander, Harper Alexander, Adele Alexander, and Charlotte Lineberry; and a myriad of other relatives and friends.
