

Onita Leverne Tyler Bond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, December 16, 2016 after a long, difficult battle with COPD. After 88 years, Nita has shed her tired diseased earthly body and now has a perfect body in heaven. Nita was born March, 27, 1928 to Carl and Josie Tyler of Jonesboro, LA and was one of five children.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Scott Teutsch, pastor of Plain Dealing Baptist Church, and Tommy Patton, Senior Minister at Cypress Baptist Church, will provide music. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:15 PM.
Survivors include Nita’s daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steve Manuel (whom she loved as a son) of Haughton, LA.; two grandsons, Tyler Manuel of Bossier City, LA., and Nick and Liz Manuel of Houston, TX.; six great grandchildren, Tristan, Grace, and Dakota Manuel of Bossier City, and Emily, Eli, and Elise Manuel of Houston, TX. Nita also leaves behind a brother, Jay Tyler, of Jonesboro, LA., a sister Elizabeth Wyatt, of Russellville, ARK., and numerous nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.
Preceding Nita in death was her husband of 58 years, Harold Jack Bond, parents, Josie and Carl Tyler, two brothers, Charles and Buddy Tyler, all of Jonesboro, LA., Pallbearers honoring Nita will be Tyler Manuel, Tristan Manuel, Robert Ogletree, Lake Childress, Ersel Holder, and Allan Pratt.
The family would like to thank all of Mama’s many doctors, and Willis-Knighton Hospice who provided wonderful, loving care to Mama. And, thank you to all the ladies and men at Eastwood Baptist Church who loved and supported my mother over the last few years of her life. Thank God for Godly Friends.
