

Philip was born in Springhill, LA to Orville D. "O.D." and Dorothy (Addison) Cox on December 30, 1952. He was a Funeral Director and President of Affiliated Enterprises encompassing Hill Crest and Centuries funeral homes and cemeteries, locally. He loved the outdoors and wildlife. He was an avid traditional bowhunter which gave him the opportunity to get up close to wildlife. When he wasn't hunting, he could be found working on his bulldozer or tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville D. "O.D." and Dorothy (Addison) Cox; in-laws, Willie and Haskell (Crabtree) Gray; brother, Fred Cox and wife Sally; and many cherished friends.
Philip is survived by his highschool sweetheart and loving wife of 52 years, Renee Cox; son, Brandon Cox and wife Ava; brother, Judge Jeff Cox and wife Susan; sister-in-law, Joyce Gray Boliew and husband Jackie; nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Rowdy, Percy James and Toby.
A visitation will be held to celebrate Philip’s life on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will be held privately with family.
The family would like to thank Mike and Pam Dunaway for their help in a difficult time, Dr. Ted Warren, Dr. Tyler Lash, Dr. Michael Durci and the staff of WK Cancer Center for their compassionate care over the past 7 years, Jerry Langley for his friendship and faithful service, and all of his prayer warriors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Samaritan's Purse or Shriners Hospital.
