Richard Carter

Richard is survived by his children and their spouses, daughter Bonnie Richardson and husband Antwan Richardson, son Jason Carter and wife Misty Carter, daughter Heather Carter and husband Chris Dupont, and son David Carter and girlfriend Haley Woodall; brothers and their spouses, brother Mike Carter and wife Laura Carter, brother Andy Carter and wife Leanne Carter; grandchildren, Christen Carter, Sawyer Dupont, Charleigh Trotta, Britney Morgan, Seth Morgan, Antwan Richardson, Jr. and numerous other beloved family members. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Carter, father and mother Frank and Hazel Carter.

Richard was born October 2,1954 in Minden, Louisiana to father Frank Carter and mother Hazel Carter. Richard graduated from Northwood High School in 1972. He was a building official for the City of Shreveport and helped build the Denver International Airport, where he then went on to retire from TXI after 10 years of service.

Richard loved to fish, spend time with family, especially with his grandchildren popping fireworks in the street. He loved to help teach his children and grandchildren to cook and be creative in the kitchen. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all else who knew him.

Services for Richard will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 1pm-2pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana.
