Msgt. (Retired) Robert Bobby L. Hanson Sr.

BOSSIER CITY, LA - A Celebration of life service for Robert L. Hanson, Sr. will be held at Hillcrest Memorial on June 19, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Bruce Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial on June 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial.

Mr. Hanson was a graduate from C. E. Byrd High School and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and Vietnam War. He retired after 20 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW Post #5951 and a 50 year member with the Masonic Lodge #273 in Boyce, Louisiana. Mr. Hanson was of Baptist Faith. Robert loved gardening, fishing, NASCAR but most of all spending time with all of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Della Hanson; father and mother in law, Clint and Phyllis Wright; sister in law, Jean Chaney; brothers in law, Lon Chaney, J.P. Johnston and Jack Zeek.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty Hanson; sons, Robert L. Hanson, Jr. (Debby), Clint K. Hanson (Janet); daughters, Elizabeth Diane Barnes (Bob) and Deborah H. Quackenbush (John); grandchildren, Jennifer Prejean (Jeff), Joni Mason (Joshua), Courtney Beauregard, Amanda Feeheley, John Quackenbush, Jr. (Haley), Elizabeth JoAnn Duet (Josh), Matthew Quackenbush, C.K. Hanson, Katelyn Quackenbush, Collin Quackenbush and Rebecca Quackenbush; great-grandchildren, Machaela Mason, Tyler Feeheley, Emma Prejean, Andrew Prejean, Ella Beauregard and Madalyn Mason; brother, Gary “Mickey” Hanson (Beth); sisters, Charlotte Zeek and Phyllis Miller (Wayne); sisters in law, Jackie Johnston and Patsy Winslett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his number one fan, his dog Daisy.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and acting as honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the physicians and staff of the Willis-Knighton Bossier Hospital especially SICU, Step-down and 3 North.
