Rosaly grew up in Puerto Rico, until the age of eleven, when her father brought her to New York City at the age of seventeen. Rosaly married Felix Sanchez (age eighteen) on March 21, 1959. A year and a half later, Rosaly gave birth to their son, Joseph; two years and two months after him, their daughter Adaline was born.
The family lived in New York for a decade, then Felix moved them to New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1973. It was here, where Rosaly began her formal education with an aim of becoming a teacher. She enrolled in the nearby Bristol Community College and not long after, earned her bachelor's degree in the field of education. Degree in hand, Rosaly began a career teaching classes in "English as a second language" (ESL). As a teacher, Rosaly took an active role in the school's Parent/Teacher Association. She also raised her strong voice in opposition to teenage drug and alcohol abuse. In all her efforts toward those goals, she showed forth, the love and light of God to all people she encountered.
Rosaly was preceded in passing by her beloved husband of forty plus years, Felix Sanchez, her parents, two siblings: Ralph Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, two mother-in-laws: Maria Zenovia Perez Valasquez, Maria Sanchez, and a sister-in-law, Carmen Milagros Rodriguez.
