He was born on October 15, 1930, in Red River Parish to the late Elvis Lee Hamous and Mary Wren Hamous.
Terry accomplished so many wonderful things in his 95 years. As a young man he entered trade school as a sheet metal mechanic apprentice. He worked for many companies in the
Shreveport/Bossier City area. In 1967 he founded Terry’s Roofing and Sheet Metal, where for thirty years he ran and operated it with his wife, Beryl. During this time, he held many positions in the sheet metal industry helping and molding those entering the field. Terry was very active in his church serving on building committees and helping the church in its growth. He was always there to help in any way he could, even cooking for Wednesday night suppers. Terry was an active member in the Bossier City Rotary Club where he also served as president.
Terry left behind a great legacy. One of humor, laughter, and so much love. If you had the privilege of knowing him then you were touched by all of these things.
Terry enjoyed many activities, but his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, watching baseball and gardening. Fishing with friends was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved watching his favorite teams play baseball and spent many evenings with his wife watching the Shreveport Captains. Most of all he loved being with family and laughing. Laughter was the one thing there was always plenty of.
He was truly loved by so many and best known as Papa. He will be missed and forever remembered.
