Bossier City, LA
Surrounded by her family, Ruth Aline Dalton Tisdale, known to most as “MeMe”, devoted wife and our precious Mother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was re-united with our Daddy, on Thursday, January 6, 2011.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Hwy 80 East, Haughton, LA. beginning at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Woody Janise, Pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church, where “MeMe” was a member the last 10 years. Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home.
MeMe was born on September 16, 1924, in Dugspur, Virginia, to Bartie and Lila Hull Dalton. She moved to Louisiana at the age of 15, when her father was transferred to work at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. There she met and married the love of her life, Glover Tisdale. Their marriage was truly “made in heaven” and they enjoyed 47 years together. She supported and encouraged him in his professional career as well as his church ministry. She made a home where we knew we were loved and appreciated and encouraged us to pursue and cherish those things in life that she taught us were most important: our faith, and our family. We know when she entered heaven she was told, “Well done! Good and Faithful Servant”
MeMe was preceded to glory by her beloved husband, Glover E. Tisdale, Jr., brothers, Colin Dalton, Russell Dalton, and Bartie Dalton, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; daughter, Janet Lewis of Bossier City, LA.; son, Rev. Randy Tisdale and wife and “second daughter” Marilyn of Haughton, LA.; grandsons, David Tisdale and wife Megan, of Minden, LA and Dalton Tisdale of Haughton, LA.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David and Dalton Tisdale; Mark Johnson, Richard Scott, Larry Davis, Doug Westley, Kennith Barnhill and Myrle Carlisle. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Harper.
Special thanks to Cindy Messinger and Shelia Pierce who helped care for MeMe at home during her final years.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International.

“An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. . . she draws on her strength and reveals that her arms are strong. . . her lamp never goes out . . . she opens her mouth with wisdom and loving instruction is on her tongue. . . her children rise up and bless her!”
Till we meet again, MeMe.
