

She was born in Jeju, South Korea on January 14, 1954, and was one of six children. While living in South Korea she met her husband, Howard, whom she married on January 16, 1980. She dedicated herself to both her family and faith, eventually becoming a devoted Christian in America.
Sang Yong excelled as a businesswoman, managing successful ventures such as Yong’s Alterations. When she wasn’t behind her sewing machine, you would find her gardening, visiting the elderly and members of her church, and spending time with her family.
Her heart for Jesus was on display with her servanthood within her community and her church, as she touched the lives of many.
Her love and kindness live on through her husband of 44 years, Howard Willis, and their 3 children: Derrick (Ashley) Willis, Todd (Sarah) Willis, Andrea (Julian) Gordon, as well as her 7 beloved grandchildren: Myles, Levi, Tessa, Elliot, Adeline, Willow and Judah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Myong-Chi Kang and Song-Sun Kim, as well as her granddaughter, Layla Grace Willis. Sang Yong’s legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Hana Church, 5035 N. Market St. in Shreveport, LA. A funeral will occur Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Hana Church.
