On June 6, 2022 Shelba Sellars left this earth to join her parents; son, Douglas; and grandson, Steven II in Heaven. She was born in Talco, Texas January 18, 1938 to W.A. and Mable DuBose Hawthorne. She died at Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City after a long illness. She fought the good fight and showed amazing courage through it all.
Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 10, 2022 with a visitation held prior from 10-11:00am at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Having a dad in the oilfield in the forties and fifties Shelba attended a different school every year, moving wherever the oil boom was. Maybe that's how she learned to make friends so easily. Shelba loved bowling and gardening, she loved dogs too, especially LuLu. She also loved watching her grandkids and great-grandkids play baseball.
Probably her favorite role was that of Mamaw, she was great at it, she loved each and everyone of her kids. grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.
She will be forever missed by those she leaves behind, her son, Steven Sellars; daughter, Tammy Walker and her husband Terry; sister, Jo Eiland; aunt, Betty Whitaker; daughter-in-law, Robin Sellars; grandsons, Chris Sellars and wife Kim, Mike Sellars, Matthew Sellars, Thomas Sellars, Caden Walker; granddaughter, Amanda Wallace and husband Kane; 10 great-grandkids; 3 great-great-grandkids; and many cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chris Sellars, Mike Sellars, Matthew Sellars, Caden Walker, Blayne Johnson, Blake Johnson, and Easton Sellars. Honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Sellars.
