Sherrin Ella Barber Rollins, 82, passed away July 14, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sherry was born on December 23, 1942, in Orange, Texas. She met and married James Rollins in 1963 and shared over 60 years of life together.
Sherry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she filled her days with love, laughter and depending on the season, baseball and football. She was a dedicated fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys — always ready with a cheer or a review. She loved her dogs, sewing, tending her garden, going to church and cooking for her family and friends. In her quieter moments, she could often be found watching home renovation shows or with a good book in her hand.
Sherry is survived by her children Stephanie Lopez and husband John, Susan Bishop, Cassandra Brown, Sally Rollins (Mike Bamburg), Jamie Rollins and wife Mollie; grandchildren T.J. Brown, Elisa Hines, Priscilla Vaughn, Cade Lopez, Michael Bamburg, Dalton Bishop, Jake Brown, Kent Brown, A.J. Bamburg and Emily Bamburg; along with 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Cassandra Carpenter and Lynn Brown and husband Wayne; sisters-in-law Jeannie Floyd, Judy Kny and husband Harvey and Arlene Rollins. Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, James and son-in-law Terry Brown.
John 3:16 was a foundational verse in Sherry's faith. This positions the verse as a key building block in her spiritual journey. As it reads, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
